Shoes of the Red Dragon +1
Completed: November 11th, 2006
Media: Cardboard, plastiscine, plaster of paris, acrylic paints, unknown fabric
Time Taken: Unknown
Purporse: School
Comments: This was about the only 3D assignment we were given in Art 11. The task was to design an 'extreme' shoe, which was a shoe demonstrating a theme of our choice. Though my theme is not very original, I think of it as a continuation of a similar assignment from Art 10, in which I also combined a shoe and a dragon. The +1 in the title comes from this, and as a Dungeons & Dragons joke.
Making the armature of cardboard was very difficult, but I did what I could to get the best shoe shape I could. My own shoe was used as a reference. There were teeth added on the edges around the toe area, but this photo was taken before they were added, and some have since fallen off. The red paint has also turned gold in some areas, so it is unlikely that I will be able to get a better photo.
Though I refer to this project as shoes, it is actually only one shoe. And, despite that it is quite large, I cannot get my foot inside it.
